Back After 2 Years

My domain name changed to crisisresourceadvocate.com. Since I’ve volunteered as a crisis resource advocate for over a decade, I decided to have my website name reflect my passion. Next, I want to talk about Lynn Messer. I know she is dear to our hearts, and I still pray that questions about her death will be brought to light on this side of heaven.

Church Teachings and the Massage Spa Shootings

Join the discussion. Did church teachings on sexuality contribute, and are we following the example of Jesus in ministry.

Sex Abuse Case Puts Baptist College Trustee and MBC in Spotlight

Toxic Tuesday: We are aware that seminary doesn’t teach how to handle abuse allegations or how to minister to victims. So why is it that most churches follow the same protocol when it comes to mishandling abuse allegations or denying involvement in cover-ups? #RememberTheMillstone

Lynn Messer: Praying for Justice

I’m still believing justice is on the way. I believe silence and slow movement in the case is for a positive reason. The integrity of the case is more important than public perception or providing answers to the family. These types of cases can take years to build a solid case. Don’t mistake it for inaction or indifference. Time is now on Lynn’s side. I’m still praying for Lynn’s reversal of destiny. Read more in this rewrite of ‘Reversal of Destiny’.

For your consideration: A woman’s role…biblically; Part 1

This series focuses on a woman’s worth, and a woman’s role in marriage. The Bible is proof positive that God has an active role for women in society, the church, and in marriage. Abusers join many Christians in the belief that a woman is scripturally mandated to obey and submit to her husband, and churchContinue reading “For your consideration: A woman’s role…biblically; Part 1”

Advocate for abused women #ForSuchATimeAsThisRally

For far too long, women have suffered silently and ashamed in many church environments.
The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has a poor track record in its treatment of women.
Women have been fired from SBC seminaries simply because they are women.
Women have been told to stay in marriages in which they are being abused.
Women have been told that they must suffer rather than divorce.
Women have been told that they are at fault for being raped.
Women have been disciplined in Southern Baptist seminaries as a result of being raped.
Men who have spoken out against this treatment of women have been castigated.

A Case Against Abused Women: Part 1

It is my heart and passion to speak truth to hurting women, and to educate the church on domestic abuse because it is in our midst.

Listen…to her visible heart

This is a series of writings from women living in difficult, disappointing, or destructive marriages…or leaving destructive marriages/relationships. When women are physically abused the harm is often visible, but what about verbal and emotional abuse? The injury is internal…on the heart, soul, mind and strength. You may never guess her husband rages in a differentContinue reading “Listen…to her visible heart”
